It’s been a hot minute since we’ve posted, but believe me when I say that the wine drinking and tapa eating has not stopped! Let me fill you in on what we’ve been up to.
Our debut at Vicente’s Cuban Cuisine was a great success! Ten people gathered for a taste of Spain, learning a little español in the process! Our guests sampled a cava, an Albariño, a Garnacha and a Tempranillo, all from our beloved España. There was a lot of sipping (and chugging in some cases), some great laughs, and new faces as well as some returning guests! We’re back at Vicente’s on May 25th, this time on their gorgeous patio, with new wines and paella, as well as Spanish learning! Reservations are required as we have limited space, so call soon!
Alejandro and I have been so busy with work and play that it’s been a minute since we’ve checked out any of the new amazing places the Detroit area has to offer. This past Thursday we decided to go back to Spain by checking out La Dulce in Royal Oak. This gorgeous little place felt like being at a tapas bar in Madrid, and from the first sip of Rioja to the last sample of sherry, we we’re blown away by the authenticity of it all. From the outstanding cheese board, to mussels in a knock-out broth, to croquetas with a Daura Estrella beer to wash it all down, to the best churros in the area! It was non-stop and we can’t wait to go back. We got to chat with Dan, who actively engaged us in a sampling of mezcals and sherries, and pretty soon everything seemed way too funny for our own good. But his passion was so apparent, and we can’t wait to go back and try more tapas!
Look for some new featured wines, this time from Argentina and Chile! It’s rosé season, and we’ve sampled some beauties that we can’t wait to share. And come check us out on the 25th at Vicente’s! ¡Salud!
